Do High-End Image Retouching Technique for Skin in any Resolution

Author: Atiqur Sumon
Usually most editors prefer to use skin cleansing, blurring, dodge and burn tools for doing image retouch. A few of these can be destructive to the overall quality of the image.Commercial photographers need this service to bring a sleek

appearance to their work. When this tool is applied correctly it can enhance the entire structure of the image and the results are error free. Because we are discussing the high end retouching, it must be told where it is used maximum. It is obvious that glamor photography shoots pertaining to fashion, beauty, cosmetics are the main highlights of this technique where it is most beneficial. Of course the advertising agencies find it the most useful service for their clients. Today the level of commercial pictures is highly valued. Hence the high end retouching technique is equally in demand. It is technical and beautiful to do it at the same time.
The skin is the largest organ in the body and this is retouched to make the person look beautiful. When photographers are using supermodels they like to improvise on the skin, cheeks and contours of the body. Making the skin softer so that it glows and looks flawless is now achieved digitally. There is a very thin line between the softening and blurring the skin lines. And this actually makes the difference to the skin texture. Since most photographers send digital samples of the work, the editor will begin the journey of processing with this largest organ. Achieving the best texture without looking ‘very photoshopped' is a challenge. The other risk involved here is not to make it look fuzzy or very smooth to be realistic. High end retouching technique will depend on the fine textures that the skin will eventually have. Simply edit features that will make the skin look realistic are:
Liquefying the parts of the features like eyebrows, cheekbones and nose line. The editor will have to check the ratio. The nose line and the lips should be well centered. If need be the lips are reshaped slightly and not too much. As long as they are aligned with the rest of the facial features, retouching them is fine. Droopy lips or thin lips can also be fine tuned with this edit.
The eyes are the most beautiful features of the face. They can be edited and retouched only to a certain extent. The skin around should not look too pulled up or wrinkled. The makeup around the facial area can also be brushed up to look even. The skin should match with the entire face. Use the stamp tool and the brush tool to find semblance in the overall shape and features. Use the zoom to get the best highlight done. For example check the nose line contrast. It can eventually be the twister to make the technique look well used. The glamour look is finally achieved in any resolution. But when it comes to normal people this kind of high-end image retouching technique may not be very appropriate.
