i.e. video projection mapping or 3-d projections mapping which is a new projection technique that can turn almost any surface into a dynamic video display. It is specialized software which is used to warp and mask the projected image to make it fit perfectly on irregularly shaped screens.
Video Mapping
Video mapping uses common entertainment technology in a new innovative way. Projection mapping is a technique that consists of projecting video images on buildings, facades structures or a kind of complex surface or 3D object to shatter the viewer's perception of perspective. It means projecting images in the real world, aligned with its features. It basically creates the new environments that connect emotionally with the audience.
By using specialized software, a two or three dimensional object is spatially mapped in the virtual program which mimics the real environment it is to be projected on. This technique is used by artists and advertisers who can add their optical illusions, extra dimensions and notions of movement onto previously static objects. It creates astonishing optical illusions with a suggestive play of light and turns a physical object into something else by changing its perception of form. In this technique, the projector literally bends any shape or even the whole building virtually in such a way that people at first will gape at its presentation. It even allows highlighting any shape or line of any structure. It simply plays with the lights and colors to give an astonishing and bewildering effect to its viewers.
Video-mapping is new technology and the reason of its success is that the public gets emotionally involved in the show. Now the question is how the projection mapping works.
Working for Project Mapping
1. When the object which is projected, a virtual replica of the entire physical set up needs is created.
2. The next step is the "Masking" that means to exactly mask the shapes and the positions of the objects by getting it coordinates.
3. Finally the xyz orientation, position and lens specification of the projector add to the virtual scene.
It is not just a cool visualization, but it is surprising and exciting way which involves physical as well as virtual space. Video Projection mapping is an innovation to improve marketing. We can do advertisement using the projection mapping technique. People get emotionally attached when something shown to them as a live, and Projection mapping technique is of that kind which improve the object quality by detecting it each not only attract the people. We can also say that videos are more attractive source of advertisement as compare to the images or templates.
